Our Verdict

Quest Fremantle does what Quest always does: delivers clean, functional apartment-style rooms in a central location without charging a premium for personality. The kitchenettes are the selling point , they turn a hotel stay into something more practical, especially for longer visits or families. You won't be posting photos of the lobby on Instagram, but you'll sleep well, cook breakfast, and walk to the Cappuccino Strip in 2 minutes.

What We Love

  • Kitchenettes in every room , microwave, cooktop, fridge, basic cookware
  • Central CBD location, 2 minutes walk to Cappuccino Strip
  • On-site parking included (rare in Fremantle CBD)
  • Laundry facilities in larger apartments
  • Consistent quality , Quest's national standards mean no surprises
  • Good value at $195/night for a studio with cooking facilities

Consider

  • Generic Quest design , no Fremantle character whatsoever
  • No pool, gym, restaurant, or bar on-site
  • Studio apartments are compact at around 30sqm
  • Street noise can reach lower-floor rooms on busy nights
  • No views , the building is surrounded by other Fremantle CBD buildings

The Rooms

Studios are around 30sqm with a queen bed, kitchenette (2-burner cooktop, microwave, small fridge, toaster, basic pots and pans), and a compact bathroom. One-bedroom apartments are larger at 45-50sqm with a separate bedroom and full kitchen. Two-bedroom apartments suit families , around 65sqm with two bedrooms, a living area, and a proper kitchen. All rooms have air conditioning, which matters in Perth summers. Furnishings are modern but plain , functional Quest standard.

Location

On High Street in Fremantle CBD, a 2-minute walk south to the Cappuccino Strip and Fremantle Markets. The train station is 5 minutes north. Fishing Boat Harbour is 10 minutes on foot. Most Fremantle attractions are walkable. The building sits among the heritage streetscape but doesn't particularly contribute to it.

Amenities

Kitchenette or full kitchen depending on room type. Laundry in 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. On-site parking (undercover, included in rate). Free WiFi. That's about it , no pool, no gym, no restaurant. This is a "cook your own breakfast and explore the town" kind of place.

Value for Money

At $195/night for a studio, Quest Fremantle is solid mid-range value for Fremantle. The kitchenette alone saves families $30-50/day on meals. Parking inclusion saves another $15-25/day versus CBD metered parking. One-bedroom apartments run $240-280. If you want personality, pay more for Hougoumont. If you want luxury, pay more for Be. Fremantle. If you want reliable and functional, this is the pick.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Quest Fremantle worth it?
For the price and practicality, yes. You get a kitchenette, parking, and a central location for $195/night. It lacks the charm of Fremantle's heritage hotels but delivers functional value.
Does Quest Fremantle have parking?
Yes , undercover parking is included in the room rate, which is a genuine perk in Fremantle CBD where street parking is metered and limited.
Is Quest Fremantle good for families?
The two-bedroom apartments work well for families. Full kitchen, laundry, space for kids to spread out. No pool though , head to South Beach (15-minute walk) or the Esplanade Park playground.
How far is Quest Fremantle from the markets?
About 200 metres , a 2-minute walk south along High Street. You'll hear the market bustle on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings.
